US mints first coin with readable Braille

The first US coin with readable Braille has gone on show at the National Federation of the Blind’s annual convention in Dallas.

It is a prototype for the Louis Braille Bicentennial Silver Dollar, which will become available in 2009, the 200th anniversary of his birth.
