At least 13 bodies were discovered from a shallow grave in an agricultural region of Latfiyah, 20 miles south of Baghdad.

The bodies were severely decomposed and were reburied close to where they were found.

The US Military on Wednesday also reported finding ten bodies in another grave east of the capital.

US soldiers, acting on a tip from a local citizen, found at least 10 decaying bodies Tuesday in a separate location, in the sewer shaft of a building in east Baghdad.
Those victims appeared to have died more than two years ago.

Meanwhile, nine suspects were detained by the US military and two "terrorist safe houses" were destroyed in raids targeting Al Qaida operations.

Iraqi police also reported finding a large weapons cache near Samarra, 60 miles north of Baghdad.
