Necati Ates met Spanish media at Anoeta Stadium in San Sabestian. He said he wanted to make a fresh start in his carrier, adding that Turkish footballers Nihat Kahveci and Tayfun Korkut, former players of Real Sociedad, motivated him to move to San Sebastian side.

"Real Sociedad was just like a Turkish team when Nihat Kahveci and Tayfun Korkut were here. I think Real Sociedad is temporarily in the second division and I hope we will advance to La Liga. I came here for this purpose," 28-year-old striker told reporters.
