Special team sent to eastern provinces
Police department earlier decided to increase the number of special team members and 511 police officers became new members of the team. The new members received certificates in a ceremony on Saturday and they were sent to the eastern provinces.

Gül: "MGK decision says Turkey should hold talks with regional administration"
President Abdullah Gül backed the government's preparation for holding talks with the regional administration in the north of Iraq after an attack waged by terrorist organization PKK on Aktutun military outpost. Premier Recep Tayyip Erdoğan went 40 meters down the Bosforus and walked from Üsküdar district to Sarayburnu district of İstanbul through the underwater tunnel Marmaray. Erdoğan walked nearly 1.3 km underwater.
