Turkish Premier meets Turkmen President
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that Turkey and Turkmenistan would have a brighter future if the relations between the two countries were improved.

Erdogan, who is currently paying a formal visit to Turkmenistan upon the invitation of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, was received by the president at the Presidential Palace in Ashkhabad.

Speaking prior to the meeting, Berdimuhamedow said that Turkey and Turkmenistan always had good relations.

Berdimuhamedow said the total amount of investments carried out by Turkish entrepreneurs in Turkmenistan during the last 1.5 years reached almost 2 billion EUR.

Delivering a speech, Erdogan also said that economic and cultural relations between Turkey and Turkmenistan should be improved.

"When relations are strengthened, our future will be much brighter," Erdogan said.

After holding a tete-a-tete meeting with Berdimuhamedow, Erdogan will attend a dinner to be hosted in his honor.
