Turkish Cypriot president meets UN official
President Mehmet Ali Talat of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) met Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General on Cyprus Alexander Downer in Lefkosa on Wednesday.

The meeting was closed to press.
Downer is also scheduled to meet leader of the Greek Cypriot administration Demetris Christofias later in the day.
Talat and Christofias have launched full-fledged talks on September 11 to find a solution to Cyprus issue.
The two leaders will have their eighth meeting on Thursday.
