Turkish Cypriot President Calls on World to End Isolation
The Turkish Cypriot president Thursday called on the entire world to end isolation of his people.

President Mehmet Ali Talat of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) called on the entire world to end the unjust and inhuman isolation of Turkish Cypriot people.

"Turkish Cypriots have fulfilled their responsibilities for the solution of Cyprus problem and for peace, and will continue to do so. Now it is time for the Greek Cypriot administration and international community to take action," Talat said during the opening ceremony of an international sportive tournament.

Talat defined sportive embargo as the "most inhuman embargo", and asked for support of the international community to lift the inhuman sportive embargo on Turkish Cypriot people.

Twenty-two countries including Turkey, Germany, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Wales, the Netherlands, Ireland, Scotland, Israel, Jersey (a British island in the English Channel), Hungary, Egypt, Moldova, Nigeria, Poland, Russia, Slovakia and Slovenia are participating in the tournament.
