Turkey's Garanti Bank posts a net profit of 1.5 billion YTL
Turkey's Garanti Bank made a net profit of 1.5 billion YTL (944.5 million USD) in the first three quarters of 2008, the bank announced on Tuesday.

The bank earned 1.252 billion YTL of net profit, excluding one-off revenues from share and services sales, in the same period of last year, Ergun Ozen, Director-General of Garanti Bank, told a news conference.
"Our net profit rose 21 percent over the same period of last year," Ozen said.
The bank also said that consolidated net profit dropped to 480.3 million YTL (302.4 million USD) in the third quarter from 517.3 million YTL a year ago.
Turkey's Dogus Holding and General Electric are the major and equal shareholders in Garanti Bank, a top Turkish lender and Turkey's second largest private bank.
