Turkey's Foreign minister proceeds to Damascus
Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan has proceeded from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Syrian capital city of Damascus.

During his stay in Jeddah, Babacan attended the first ministerial meeting of the Strategic Dialogue mechanism between Turkey and Gulf Cooperation Council-member countries. He also signed a memorandum of understanding aiming at developing relations between Turkey and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Babacan also met Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu.
Later, Babacan left Jeddah for Damascus. Babacan, together with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will attend the quartet summit of Turkey, France, Syria and Qatar. (UK-MS)
