Terrorist organization PKK, the "killer of babies", finances itself with illicit drugs and human trafficking and arm smuggling.
Intelligence units revealed the results of a research which brings to light the real face of the terrorist organization. The research, which proves that PKK has become an organized criminal organization, emphasizes that the terrorist organization poses threat not only to Turkey but also to the whole world.
ERDOGAN VISITS NUCLEAR RESEARCH CENTRE
During his visit to European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed the special book of the centre.
"I believe Turkish scientists' participation in various projects is a great opportunity both for CERN and Turkey. We should improve our cooperation," Erdogan wrote.

TURKEY, A FAVORITE OF INDIAN COMPANIES
Indian Ambassador to Turkey Raminder S. Jassal said that Indian companies would make more investments in Turkey which was a significant energy center. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's possible visit to New Delhi on November 20 would boost bilateral relations, Jassal said.
NORWAY WANTS TO SEND DRUG-ADDICT TEENS TO TURKEY FOR REHAB
Norway, which has been suffering from increasing numbers of teen alcoholics and drug addicts, has chosen Turkey as a site for their rehabilitation. The overcast weather throughout Norway hinders the rehabilitation of teenagers with substance addictions, so the Norwegian government has collaborated with health establishments in Antalya, where the sun shines year round, to treat the Norwegian citizens. Groups of Norwegian teens will soon begin traveling to Antalya for two-and-a-half-month rehabilitation programs featuring both medical care and group therapy sessions.

KURDISH TV ON AIR IN NEW YEAR
State-run Turkish Radio & Television (TRT), which has been pursuing its preparations for a long time, will start broadcast in Kurdish as of the new year. TRT-8 channel will be watched in Middle East and Europe (besides Turkey). The channel will use Hotbird satellite which is also used by Roj TV.
INTERLOCUTOR IS TALABANI IN CROSS-BORDER OPERATION
Control of Iraqi air space will be handed over to Baghdad (by the U.S.) as of January 1, 2009 in line with the security agreement between the United States and Iraq. Thus, the understanding which was reached between Turkey and the U.S. regarding (Turkey's)cross-border air operations will become invalid. Turkey will not intervene in the north of Iraq without the permission of Iraqi President Jalal Talabani.

ALARMING FIGURE
Turkish Board of Statistics (TUIK) made public results of its labor force survey covering July, August and September 2008. Turkey's unemployment rate became 9.8 percent in August 2008. Unemployment rate was 9.2 percent in August 2007. The official figures said there were now 2,439,000 unemployed people in Turkey.
ISO URGES GOVERNMENT TO TAKE MEASURES
Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) Chairman Tanil Kucuk said the Turkish industrialists had been facing financing problems and there had been slowdown in production. Kucuk said the main cure for the current situation in the country was to create new job opportunities. The government should take some measures to preserve employment, he said.

Ministries of Finance and Environment & Forestry agreed to implement a constitutional amendment on the 2-B lands that are no more qualified as forests. Accordingly, Housing Development Administration of Turkey and municipalities will carry out urban transformation projects on the 2-B lands in city centres. The 2-B lands, on which industrial facilities were established, would be sold to the owners of such facilities.

125,000 YTL FINE TO DOCTOR WHO GIVE INSUFFICIENT INFORMATION TO PATIENT
Supreme Court of Appeals made a historical decision regarding "the liability of informing the patient". The court ruled to punish a doctor to pay 125,000 YTL of indemnity to the patient who had aphonia after a surgery. The doctor was accused of not informing the patient sufficiently about the possible risks.
207,000 MORE JOBLESS PEOPLE
The number of jobless people increased by 207,000 and reached 2,439,000 in August, 2008 when compared with August 2007. People who could not find job in construction and transportation sectors returned to their villages.

FROM NOW ON IRAQ WILL ALLOW
Baghdad will have the control of Iraqi air space as of January 1, 2009 in line with the security agreement signed between Iraq and the United States. And it will be a serious obstacle before the cross-border air operations of Turkish warplanes on PKK terrorist organization. As a result of an understanding between Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and U.S. President George W. Bush on November 5, 2007, the United States --which has the control of Iraqi air space-- allowed Turkey to stage air strikes on PKK in the north of Iraq.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki will send a representative to Ankara tomorrow. The representative will inform Ankara about the security agreement between Iraq and the U.S., and also learn about the demands of Turkey.

European Round Table of Industrialists (ERT), a group of 47 leading European industrialists that employ nearly 5 million people and whose revenues reach 1.6 trillion Euros, gathered at a meeting in Istanbul. Guler Sabanci and Bulent Eczacibasi were the Turkish participants of the meeting. During the gathering, the members of ERT agreed that weak industries and companies should not be supported, the demand should be raised and credit requirements should be improved.

UNMANNED PLANE IN BAG
The Turkish Aircraft Industries, Inc. (TUSAS) has manufactured unmanned aerial vehicle which can be carried in a bag. The mini aerial vehicle can fly for one hour at 2,000 ft altitude. National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul said the unmanned mini plane was equipped with a miniature video camera and it would be used in several areas.
TURKEY, IRAN SIGN NATURAL GAS AGREEMENT
Turkey and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding to improve cooperation in the field of natural gas and to launch current projects. Energy Minister Hilmi Guler and Iranian Oil Minister Qolam Hosein Nozari signed the agreement in Tehran. "We are making a contribution to the security of energy supply, which is a very important issue. Both Turkey and Europe need natural gas," Guler said.
