HASHISH IN BEEHIVE
Illicit drug traffickers have tried to stash 247 kg of hashish in beehives, but could not escape from security forces. Police seized the drug stashed in 230 packages in the southern province of Adana. Some police officers were stung as they were trying to take the drug outside the beehives.
ERDOGAN: "TERRORISM HAS GLOBALIZED"

ECHR: EVERY PROSECUTOR MAY SUE COUP-MAKERS
European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) convicted Turkey to pay 41,000 euros in a case filed by Sacit Kayasu, a former prosecutor who was banned from his post since he filed a lawsuit against the leader of 1980 coup Kenan Evren. The court ruled that every prosecutor has the right to prepare indictment against coup-makers.

A memorial service was held at the Turkish parliament for retired Colonel Mustafa Sekip Birgol, the last veteran of the Turkish Independence War. TURKEY ATTENDS MOST CRITICAL SUMMIT
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will represent Turkey at a summit where the world's twenty most developed countries will seek a solution for the growing global economic crisis.
Twenty countries with biggest economies, which make nearly 85 percent of the global production, will gather in Washington D.C. tomorrow to seek a way out of the crisis. Turkey is the 16th biggest economy among G-20 countries. G-20 includes world's leading countries such as USA, Japan, Germany, China, Britain, France, Russia, Italy and Canada.
TMSF HEAD CALLS ON BUSINESS LEADERS TO BE BRAVE
Ahmet Erturk, the head of Turkey's Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF), addressed the Turkish real sector.
"We need to be open and clear. We do not need to use a political language. We should be demanding. We should be clear so that the decision makers can feel the urgency," Erturk said.

LAST TRIBUTE TO LAST VETERAN
A memorial service took place at the parliament out of respect to Mustafa Sekip Birgol, the last veteran of the Turkey's War of Independence. President Abdullah Gul, General Staff Chief Gen. Ilker Basbug and parliamentarians were in attendance at the service. Birgol's daughter expressed her gratitude with the parliament's decision to hold such a service. "We are sorrowful but also proud at the same time," she said.

The international animal right group, PETA, staged a demonstration in front of the European Parliament in Brussels, to protest killing of stray dogs in Turkey. Demonstrators carried photographs of slain animals and chanted slogans "respect, don't neglect".
