The festival, hosted by Turkey's Aegean city of Aydin and Greek island of Samos for the seventh time, ended on Thursday.

It began in Aydin's Kusadasi town on June 7th with a panel discussion on "Water and Light." Turkish singer Leman Sam and Greek singer Pantelis Thalassinos gave concerts in the Turkish leg of the festival.

On the Samos island, Turkish singer Gulsen Karanlik and a Laiko troupe took stage.

"These festivals aim at ending prejudices. If we can boost economy, culture and friendship, the Aegean can become a sea of friendship in the real sense," a Turkish journalist who was among the coordinators of the festival told AA correspondent.

Journalist Celal Baslangic also said that improvement of economic and cultural ties and friendship would solve problems between Turkey and Greece.
