The 10-screen cinema complex, named Shinjuku Piccadilly, will open on July 19 in the former Shinjuku Shochiku Kaikan building that the company has been rebuilding with an investment of 6 billion yen. The movie facility will have a total seating capacity of 2,237, including private balcony seats (priced at 30,000 yen for a pair of seats) available in its biggest 607-seat theater.
A large Muji store, which is popular for a broad variety of household goods, operated by retailing company Ryohin Keikaku Co., will also open in the same building.
