Retired General Tolon hospitalized
Retired Turkish General Hursit Tolon, who was placed in prison as part of the "Ergenekon" case, has been hospitalized on Wednesday.

No statement has been released on Tolon's medical condition.

Tolon is currently at the Kocaeli State Hospital where security measures are very high.

An alleged criminal network that came to be known as "Ergenekon" was revealed after police seized hand grenades, TNT explosives and fuses in a shanty house in Istanbul on June 12th, 2007. Several Turkish figures, including retired senior army officers, were detained and sent to prison within the scope of the investigation.

The indictment regarding "Operation Ergenekon" was filed at an Istanbul court, indicting 86 people on charges of attempting to overthrow Turkish government. The 2,455-page indictment includes 86 suspects, most of whom are in prison.

An Istanbul court will hold the first hearing of the case on October 20th.
