Turkish boron is exported to Far eastern and European countries the most, according to boron exports figures of 2007.
Share of Asian and European countries is 43 percent in boron exports in the same period, whereas North and South America countries got a share of 12 percent and share of countries of Middle East is 2 percent.
Total boron experts of Eti Mining Venture Directorate General was 384 million in 2007.
Boron, a semi-metallic element, exhibits some properties of metal as well as of non-metal.
Turkey has almost 72 percent of the world's boron potential and boron reserves. The importance of boron --widely used in industries ranging from detergent industry to glass industry-- will increase as hydrogen fuelled motor vehicles are introduced.
