Because some of them were below poverty threshold and were suffering extreme economic problems.
"However, Muslim countries have the potential to overcome this crisis," Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu told a press conference after the meeting of the Follow-Up Committee of the Standing Committee for Economic & Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the OIC in Istanbul.
Ihsanoglu said some Muslim countries had the land, water and population but no capital, however, some had capital but no agricultural geology and water.
"What we are offering is to create synergy by the help of cooperation between these countries having supplementary means," he said.
Ihsanoglu also said that the OIC would soon take further steps regarding a "food fund", an initiative that Kuwaiti government launched a week ago and donated 100 million USD.
