A plane was carrying two pilots and seven crew members when it went missing 10 minutes after taking off from the Davao airport late on Monday.

Air Force chief Pedrito Cadungog said authorities are checking whether the debris found by fishermen at the Davao Gulf was from the missing plane.

"We received reports from the field that two pairs of combat boots, documents and aircraft debris were found by fishermen at Davao Gulf off Davao City," Cadungog said.
