The Ministry of Interior, is putting into effect a new Turkish Republic Identity Card which will allow for faster service in administrative establishments, will be easy to carry and difficult to copy while also adhering to international standards.

The new chipped ID cards have begun to be distributed in the pilot region, Bolu. The new ID cards are the same size as a driving license and smaller than the former ID cards.
