Nationalist movement party MP passes away
Gunduz Aktan, a former ambassador and a member of parliament from the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), passed away early on Wednesday at the age of 67.

Aktan was undergoing medical treatment in a hospital in Ankara due to a heart condition.

Aktan was elected MP in general elections in 2007. He served as the Turkish ambassador to Greece and Japan. Aktan was married with two children.

With Aktan's death, number MPs of the Nationalist Movement Party dropped to 69 as number of vacant seats rose to four.
