Obama's campaign sent text messages to supporters that the Democratic presidential candidate has chosen Senator Joe Biden as his VP nominee.

McCain's camp said Obama's choice of Biden as his running mate was an admission by the Democrat that he was not ready to serve as president himself.

"There has been no harsher critic of Barack Obama's lack of experience than Joe Biden," McCain campaign spokesman Ben Porritt said in a statement.


"Biden has denounced Barack Obama's poor foreign policy judgement and has strongly argued in his own words what Americans are quickly realizing—that Barack Obama is not ready to be president," Porritt said.

Biden brings decades of national security experience to the Democratic White House ticket, an area where Obama is seen as lacking.
