The Maltese-flagged "Lord Nelson" cargo ship had a mechanical breakdown at the Canakkale Strait when it was heading for a factory in Biga town of the Aegean province of Canakkale.
The 185-meter cargo ship was carrying scrap metal from Britain to the factory.
Turkish authorities said that the 22,666-gross ton ship would set sail again after repair.
