TIMETURK / NEWS CENTER

The letter that was written to the President of Egypt, Husnu Mubarak, for the opening of Rafah border urgently in order to stop the tragedy of humanity in Gaza, was delivered to the embassy of Egypt.

The letter, with the signatories listed below, was signed by the 22 NGOs including Memursen, İHD, Hizmetiş, TİHV and Müsiad

In the pioneership of the NGOs that are the members of the network of the International Justice, also in England, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Lebanon, South Africa and Iran, the same letter via the embassies will be delivered to Husnu Mubarak.

In the media statement made by the Mazlumder secretary general, Emre YURTALAN, the letter was shared with the public opinion.

After the statement, the letter was given to the secretary of the Egyptian  embassy, Ihab Suleyman to be given to Hunsu Mubarak. The letter says:

Dear President,

We, with the signatures below, are writing to you with the hope that you will do more than you do for Gaza that is under siege. We find this necessary.

No doubt, we know that you do not need to be informed by us for the crisis of humanity that goes on in Gaza and is known by everybody. Gaza blockade, before this new crisis, was defined as the formation of the biggest camp in the world. It is believed that 1.5 millions of people are treated bad and clearly punished all since they had chosen their own government.

As you know the fuel given to Gaza was obstacled by the closure of the power plant. The UN is under press to stop the delivery of food aid for Gaza. Israeli authorities are breaking the Genova treaty and many other international laws. All these crimes against the Gazans are taking the honour to be human under feet but against all these crimes almost nothing is done. The denial of the things that should be done against the guilties make those people the accomplices of those guilties.

As this disaster is known by everyone, those who live there believe that an entrance is needed for Gaza. The entrance of the Gaza camp is out of the Israeli control but that can be under their control anytime. This point of entry is in the Egyptian border and must urgently be opened for the entrance of the international aids and the daily basic needs.

At least this can relieve the pains of the innocent Gazans. We do not like you to open this border enrtance, we demand this from you. We would like you to look at the example of the Egyptians who broke the blockade and helped the Gazans in the beginning of this year.

We are reminding you, either you can choose an honoured but difficult way like them or help the pressures on Gaza. This is not even a choice for anyone who has conscience.

Hoping that you will act urgently and humanly…
