Iraqi politician escapes assassination bid
Iraqi politician Ahmad Chalabi escaped an assassination bid when a car bomb targeted his motorcade in western Baghdad.

Chalabi was attacked late on Friday in the Al Mansour area as he was returning to his home.
Chalabi is currently chairman of the de-Baathification Authority and the committee concerned with restoring basic services in the country.
He was seen as the main adviser to the United States in its attempt to overthrow former Iraqi president Saddam Hussain.
