"Heydar Aliyev Museum" opened in Adana
A museum, where photograps and books reflecting the life of Heydar Aliyev was opened in Adana.

Azerbaijani ambassador in Ankara Zakir Hashimov and Azerbaijani deputy minister Valeh Haciyev attended the opening ceremony of "Heydar Aliyev Museum".

"There is no border between Turkey and Azerbaijan. A bridge of friendship was built thanks to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. Heydar Aliyev Museum strengthened such friendship," Haciyev said during the ceremony.

A total of 162 photographs and numerous books all reflecting certain phases of Aliyev's life are on display at "Heydar Aliyev Museum".

Heydar Aliyev was the president of Azerbaijan from June 1993 to October 2003. From 1969 till 1982, Aliyev was also the leader of Soviet Azerbaijan, practically dominating the political life of Azerbaijan for over 30 years.

He died in the Cleveland Clinic in USA in December 2003. His son Ilham Aliyev succeeded him.
