Trabzonspor: 1, Beşiktaş: 2
Mustafa Denizli, had acquired two wins against Trabzonspor in their home stadium prior. Of course at that time he was at the head of Fenerbahçe. The fact that the last game Denizli stepped foot in the Avni Aker stadium at (December 8th, 2001), was played the year Serdar Özkan, the 21-year old player who was in Beşiktaş's starting line up last night, was only fourteen years old, brings a reality check to the amount of time that has passed in between. But this is Mustafa Denizli... Despite being distanced from top-level football for so long; and not bringing along Cisse, Delgado and Sivok, due to injuries, while choosing to rest players Nobre and Holosko in the away game in Trabzon, the fact that he came back a victor can only be attributed to his 'Sultanate' intelligence and experience.

Of course we cannot forget the sultan's helpers. For example Bobo, who played as if he was even more comfortable in the Avni Aker stadium versus İnönü. Having scored into Trabzon's nets in the 2006-2007 and the 2007-2008 seasons, scored the opening goal in yesterday's game. In the 33rd minute, Uğur İnceman hit a solid strike, to which Tony Sylva was unable o catch and in the end all Bobo had to do was touch it.

ZAPO'S FIRST GOAL
After falling behind in the 33rd minute, Ersun Yanal's team spent the first half trying to score with distance shots. The most dangerous of which, were the 14th and 16th minute shots by Selçuk. In the second half, they finally opened up in the 52nd minute with Ekrem's shoot... The match which persisted calmly and quietly up until the 55th minute, began to stir when Egemen Korkmaz who said to the forward players, "If you can't hit one I will," scoring Trabzonspor's only goal. Yattara centered it from the right; Gökhan Ünal gained control and kept it while passing it on to Egemen who scored with a right foot shot. Even though shots in the 57th minute with Selçuk and in the 76th minute with Gökhan Ünal did excite, almost everyone was certain the match would end with a 1-1 draw. However, Bobo, already responsible for the team's first goal, then gained the ball in the games 91st minute and centered it, but this time Beşiktaş's stopper took charge. Following the ball closely, Zapotocny with a header, scored his first goal in Turkey bringing a sigh of relief to the team; while Trabzonspor may be throwing the cup to the flames.
