Tuesday, 24 June 2008 13:44

The exhibition consists of paintings made by Turkish and Azerbaijani painters.

Speaking at the inauguration of the exhibition, Turkey's Ambassador in Baku Hulusi Kilic said that the "painting exhibition is more than just an art event. It is a symbol showing the notion of 'two states and one nation'."

"Identical events must continue to take place not only in Azerbaijan but also in Turkey," Kilic noted.

A concert took place at the inauguration of the Baku exhibition.

The exhibition includes paintings by Turkey's Yasar Calli and Ali Senger.

Arif Aziz, an Azerbaijani painter, said that "common exhibitions of Turkish and Azerbaijani painters would contribute to the development of not only cultural relations but also diplomatic ones."
