It's Hard Being Loved By Jerks" by Daniel Leconte takes as its subject a bitter legal battle by the editor of a French weekly who was acquitted last year on charges of offending Muslims for reprinting the offending cartoons.
The landmark trial was seen as an important test for freedom of expression in France, after the publication of the "blasphemous" caricatures sparked violent protests by Muslims worldwide.
Philippe Val, who runs the leftist satirical Charlie Hebdo weekly, was sued by two Muslim organizations which argued that the cartoons, first printed by a Danish newspaper, drew an offensive link between Islam and terrorism.
Why insulting in the guise of freedom of expression?
Lately the insult on the religious values, especially the Islamic values, is highly criticised by the people who have conscience in their souls. Naming the Muslim believers as "fundamental", "radical", "terrorist", "evil" ,"jerk" ect. is not something that can be approved by the honorable members of any holy religions.
As a big wave of emnity and hate, parallel to the 9/ 11 events, the term "Islamophobia" was created by the anti-Islamic powers. In Denmark, in the guise of the freedom of expression, all can remember the cartoons insulting the holy Prophet of Islam.
In Netherlands, a Dutch politician, Geert Wilders, tried to present Quran as a book of "terror" and "fascism".
US soldier shooting Quran
Just a few days ago a U.S. soldier has been expelled from Iraq for shooting a Quran during target practice. This also shows the hate some people have in their hearts about Islam.
What the ones who insult on the holy values will have is nothing but a big shame around their necks that they will carry forever.
